Mela Africa builds the trusted data and intelligence layer for Africa's farmers. We help banks, insurers, input companies, buyers and development programmes see and serve farmers, so more farmers get loans, insurance and fair markets. We work from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
About the role
You'll lead how Mela hires, welcomes and grows its people. You'll help build a culture of ownership, honesty and hard work as the team grows.
What you’ll do
Run hiring from first contact to signed offer.
Onboard new team members and set them up to succeed.
Keep contracts, payroll inputs and HR records in order.
Make sure we follow Tanzanian labour law.
Shape our values, policies and ways of working.
What you’ll bring
Experience in HR or people operations in Tanzania.
Good knowledge of Tanzanian employment law.
Strong organisation and discretion with confidential matters.
Fluent English and Kiswahili.
Nice to have
Experience at a startup or fast-growing company.
Experience hiring engineers or technical teams.
